Jobs for 14, 15, or 16 year olds
September 22nd, 2010 by rgecziHello Get Me a Job members and visitors, after writing an article for teenagers about various employment opportunities, we decided to narrow down the age group a bit, to focus on the lower side of “teens”, and that is for the 14, 15, and 16 year olds. Jobs for 14, 15, and 16 year olds is a bit different than the older teens, because these kids pretty much just “landed” in high school, or are midway through it, and therefor are still trying to “figure themselves out”. The teens closer to 20, know for the most part which direction they want to head. This can work to the advantage of the younger teens, and let me explain why.
For 14, 15, and 16 year old, because they don’t yet have a feel of exactly what they want to do as a career, the have more room to be creative and bounce from one idea to another. For this age group, sometimes employers are not keen in hiring them for whatever reason, so in my opinion, I think it’s best they carve out their own niche. So, I have created a list of things they can do, for employment. Some of the ideas on this list is similar to another job article I did for teens, but what is different about this list, is that all of the jobs are online. I believe this is where the young people can flourish more, and have more room for creativity to inject into a certain project. Look below for the list:
- Voice-over work for film, TV, and radio
- Article writing for various blogs and so on
- Youtube videos showcasing some of your, or other people’s talents, which might lead to something else down the road
- Webmaster of a site
- Interviewer for a blog
- Your own website that sells Ebay items, and the like
- In addition to Ebay stuff, you can also attach a website of yours to the tons of affiliate offers that are out there for you to promote and make money off of
- Website designer
- Screencast services for companies wishing to showcase their company’s strengths by a screencast
The list is pretty much endless, and as you see, are all focused on online work. This is where the future lies for the young generation, and again, it is one that allows youth to be creative, a lot more creative than working at a burger joint. Scour the internet for the various jobs that I mentioned which appeal to you, and get to work. The great thing about the jobs above is that you can set your own pace pretty much, unless things really take off for you and you can solely focus on your online venture. Jobs for 14, 15, or 16 year olds of today is much different than 10 or 20 years ago, and because of this, you should move with the times.
We wish you all the best in finding something that suits for you, and if you want, you can post about your experiences here on our site, Get Me a Job, so not only we can see what you are doing, or have done, but others can as well, taking that knowledge, and expanding it themselves for their own lives.
